Hi all, I think this anoversary thing sounds great! I'm from way out in
Oregon, but I'd sure come if at all possible. This is for Dec. 97, right?
I'll start saving now!!! I also think that badges or T-shirts with some
kind of FML logo would be WONDERFUL! I'd be very proud to *advertise* our
group. Lets go for it.
Someone mentioned a dog being scared of Ferrets, and it reminded me of a
cute story. We have a local function that I go to every year, nothing to do
with Ferts, it's a horsedrawn equipment auction that lasts two days. Well
anyway, the first year I had Katie I took her with me for the day, there
were several dogs around and most were curious, but this one dog, a red
heeler, was absolutely terrified of Katie. If I even was in the same
building as him but clear across the other side, he would spot me and bark
then go and hide. Well OK, but the next year I didn't bring Katie, and this
same dog took one look at me and growled, barked and ran away. His owner
said he was never like that with anyone but me, I guess he could still smell
Fert. The one time I did get close to him, once he realized I was there He
tried to bite my hand! I'll be interested to see what happens this year.
Also, I am thinking of getting a second Fuzzy in the not-to-distant future,
and I'd like some input here. Katie will be three the end of October this
year. I'm wondering whether I should be looking for a little boy, or a girl
as her new friend. Has anyone found that same or opposite sexes get along
better? I know with dogs that you get less dominance fighting with one of
each sex, rather than two of the same, is it the same with Ferrets, or does
it make no noticeable difference? I'd appreciate any input, you can E-mail
me at home at [log in to unmask], if ou don't want to answer on the list.
One last thing! The FLO has struck my home,I'm sure of it!!! Katie is
usually about 98% with her litter box outside her condo. Well, the other
night I was plunking away on the computer and spotted Katie backing into the
corner by the dishwasher. I yelled "Katie, Don't you dare!" and jumped up
and put her in her litter box across the room. She promptly jumped back out
and headed for the same *wrong* corner again. So I picked her back up and
put her back in the litterbox. This time I made her stay there till she
finally gave in and pooped, then gave me a "See what you made me do?" look,
and ran off to play. Five minutes later she ran back to the same corner by
the dishwasher and pee-pee'd before I could get to her. She sure looked
extremely pleased with herself afterwards. I'm sure this is some required
FLO maneuver she needed to advance in rank or something!
