Cedar chips, again, for Nathan and Heather Viles:
See an article by Dr. Williams, "Why not Cedar Shavings?", at
http://www.optics.rochester.edu:8080/users/pgreene/faq/part2.html#wood_shavings
(5 references) and one by Jeff Johnston, "Respiratory toxicity of
cedar and pine wood: A review..." at
http://www.phy.duke.edu/ferrets/cedar.html (45 references).

Hair loss on the tail, for Edward Nash:
If it's just the tail, probably it's hormonal/seasonal; keep an eye on it
but don't panic. If it progresses up the back end, it's a sign of adrenal
disease -- see the Medical FAQ on Adrenal Disease, from any of the places
listed below.

Rainbow Bridge, for Jessica Woodward:
There is such a poem. At least one person (sorry; I don't recall who)
sells a nicely illustrated plaque with with the poem, and several WWW
sites display it. For example, see
http://ferret-world.csc.peachnet.edu/Rainbow_Bridge/rainbow.html.

Chat lines, for Lynne K. Fuge:
Bill already mentioned the AOL chat area. Ferret chats also happen on
IRC channel #ferrets or #GCFA (on irc.prospero.com, for instance).
