Hi, all. I've been kinda scared to write in lately, however, I just wanted
to put my two cents in about FOX. I've been on vacation for a week and am a
little behind on the FML, but about FOX. In my experience, FOX has
typically displayed a lack of responsibilty in journalism. One time they
interviewed a group of scientists from Philips Lab here in Albuquerque.
These scientists, including my fiance, develop LASER technology,
specifically hand-held lasers for medical use. FOX told them that they were
interviewing for a medical show, but about a week later the interview
appeared on Sightings in a story about how the Air Force flies in silent
helocopters into farmer's fields and use these lasers to perform cattle
mutilations in New Mexico. This is, of course, entirely untrue. I've
further seen on the same program a story about an asteroid that is coming to
collide with the Earth in a few years. Being a planetary scientist, myself,
I know this little tidbit is totally made up. There is no evidence of any
asteroidal collision in the near future. Needless to say, I'm not at all
surprised about the weasel story FOX put out. Although there may be
elements of truth in it, they never provide the whole story. I certainly
hope they will develop some responsibilty in reporting. Maybe we just need
to make alot of noise in defense of our loved ones. Actually, there is no
maybe about it.
