The opposite thing happend to our 1.5 yo female silver-mit last year.
She had silver gray hair when we bought her; that's why my
husband named her Mythril - silver metal, more precious than gold and
supposed to be the hardest metal described in Tolkien's stories.
 
Her silver gray color faded away and changed to white with
black hair after I gave her the first bath.  I shouldn't have
given her the second shampoo... :-)

              sneaky Mythril (who loves drinking fresh
              bath water right after I get out of shower)
