The Maryland Coalition for Rational Rabies Policies, chaired by Diane
Rogers, has been fighting the kill-and-test policy on two fronts:
legislative and judicial.  Legislative efforts have centered around House
Bill 426, which was approved in the House of Delegates and will soon be
under consideration in the Maryland Senate.  Expenses for this effort have
included the printing of a brochure, phone bills, postage, and printing of
information packets for the legislators.  The Coalition is also helping to
support a lawsuit against the health department initiated by the family of
Rasha, a young ferret ordered killed and tested last year in Maryland.  The
lawsuit is now in the Maryland Court of Appeals.  This case has the
potential to send a message to health officials in Maryland and elsewhere.
Diane Rogers has announced that the Rasha fund is nearly depleted.  If you
