To Mason:
Flagyl is a challenge for sure with ferrets....  quite plainly it is
awful...  but it works well
 
Try to get the dose of flagyl crushed and then if you can coax your ferret
into taking ferretvite, nutri-cal or nutristat just place a dab or maybe a
couple of dabs on top of the flagyl.  It may take some coaxing because quite
honestly it is a bear of a nasty pill.  Whast has not worked is trying to
combine the flagyl with ferretone
 
Good luck- otherwise if the dose is small enough perhaps your vet can give
you an empty syringe (w/o needle) to administer a solution with juice etc
and shoot it into the ferrets mouth near the very back so it will go
directly down the throat... and don't expect your fuzzy to thank you either.
