This is in response to two different people at CDFA.
To the legal director: I sent you email asking to be added to your CA Update
mailing list. Today I received the first one only to find that ALL the
other members on the list had their email' address in plain view for anyone
to see, note and track down. I am shocked that you would assume that this
was acceptable. I have already sent you direct email asking to be taken off
the list until such time as you learn how to use a mailing list. I am
posting this so other people that offer mailing list services don't make the
same incorrect assumption.
To the webmaster: You did the same thing. I volunteered to help you 'test'
your website and all it's associated entities. However when you recently
sent out email, you included every email address that had agreed to help you
on the site.
If either of you need help with mailing list' maybe BIG can help and if he
is too busy, post a response here and I'll be happy to help you. One quick
solution is to send the email back to yourself and include your recipients
in the BCC field.
Sorry to ramble but both of you really pissed me off when you took it upon
yourself to jeopardize my ferts.
Jeff, Codo, Bear and Buddy.
[Moderator's note: I can set up a basic list with few services - basically
a mail forwarder with some error checking. Re using Bcc:, I've found that
many mailers simply convert it to a Cc: - it's not acceptable for secure
use, in my opinion.
The anon posts here are manually processed so signatures and such can be
removed if present, but that's obviously not always the best way to go. BIG]
