We took Lazarus to the vet today. Thank goodness he had a clean bill of
health after all he went through! The vet said the black stuff in his ears
was just crud, no ear mites! He figures Lazarus had been hypoglycemic (sp?)
since he had been found drinking soda off the pavement. That's one possible
explanation for the hind leg weakness. We thought he had Lymphosarcoma
(sp?) by the way he was dragging his feet. The vet said no. What a relief!
He also did a stool test and found no parasites.

The vet said that Lazarus is only about a year old. Funny, when we got him
from Gail, he looked ancient. I guess that's because he went through alot.
What an improvement from Friday, he's looking better already.

Laz got his rabies shot. Doc said we should still continue to quarantine
him from Tozer and Rascal just in case he comes down with something. But he
doubts that Laz is sick. Friday we will be able to introduce Laz to Tozer
and Rascal. They are so curious already. They want to meet him. In 2
weeks we take him back for the distemper shot. Doc said that he wanted to
wait with the other shot because of what he had been through.

Dr. Evans is an excellent DVM. He is just so kind and gentle with the
fuzzies. He is also very knowledgeable. I would recommend him to anyone
here in Orange County, NY looking for a good vet.
