I have noticed that meat has not been mentioned as a food or treat in the
FML since I arrived (perhaps 2-3 weeks).

Dodger, in particular, has been getting a fair share of beef, pork, chicken,
and fish (in decending order), cooked, boneless and trimmed, no salt or
seasonings.

Now, I know that there is a big difference between lean rib steak and an
entire rabbit or mouse (which have bones, vegetable stomach contents, hair,
etc.) Is there a place for trimmed meat in the diet--and if so, as a treat,
or as a percentage of the diet?

I am feeding Science Diet kitten. Right now, Dodge is happy at about 20%
real meat. Opinions? Keep in mind this is real meat, not hot dogs and
honey garlic chicken wings...but also deboned, degutted, and deskinned.

Lem, well Lemmy was raised on bulk no-name cat food for three years before I
got him. He won't eat anything but this crud now...no matter how I try to
get him to eat something more nutritious. Lem's been through a bit of abuse
and it seems he might like to eat either me or Dodge, but I have been
telling him that's not appropriate. I almost want to take his bowl of crud
away so he is forced to eat the other stuff... Can't disguise the SD with
linotane, canned food, baby food, meat, raisins. Lem won't have any part of
any of that.

Any comments? I want my guys to have long, happy lives. At this point, I'm
not sure if the meat I'm giving Dodge is a good thing, bad thing, or really
has no consequence. Lemmy's now 4, and I am really not sure what to do
about his diet...should I just do the switch? After all, I wouldn't let my
cats *near* the stuff he's eating.

Thanks, Lynn.
