>He's about 4lb 10oz now. Is he a "silver"?

Around here we call that silver mitt, although breeders may know more than
us. I have a ferret very much like that too except he has a silver mask.

>Feb.'95 is pretty close to Psycho (left) and Cecil (right). Would that be
>a "blaze" and a "black-eyed white"?

Blaze, stripe, badger, shetland...they all seem to apply to Psycho's colours
(I have one of those too). Black eyes white coat = black eyed white, yup :)

>Finally, Cocoa is like this month's November, without the turkey (we had
>our Canadian Thanksgiving last month). Actually, she's more like the '96
>November, the one in the can. Is that a "sable" or a "chocolate"?

I want to know that too...everything that is brown here we call it a sable.
If it has white feet we call it a sable with white feet. (I got one of each
of those too) (I have too many ferrets)

To whoever wrote the funny African Death Weasel Story...once we were in the
park and these small boys came over and were pestering us (first it was cute
questions, then it got bothersome) about the ferrets. Can I hold it, can I
walk it, look it wants to come with me, how do you know it's yours, where
did you get it, give me the leash I wanna walk it, etc etc...my boyfriend
finally leaned over and said "They're ours because we were the first ones to
find them way over by that tree about 150 feet away."

And the little boys ran merrily away to see if there were any "more" ferrets
running around by the tree while we made our get away.

And another warning at Christmas that I didn't see posted...when you are
cooking, you should lock up your beasties...holidays are a famous time for
ferrets climbing into dishwashers and ovens etc while their people are
rushing madly around the kitchen. Be careful when you open your kitchen
windows when you set that fire alarm off too...

Happy Holidays
