From Pet Product News, January 1996

PIJAC state coordinator Micheal Twain is a member of the Wildlife Intergrity
Task Group, which was formed due to increased concern about introduction of
non-native species to the state. A draft proposal from the group is
expected to contain new ways to classify "exotics" as low-, moderate-, and
high-risk species. These classifications would affect permit requirements.

Though permits may not be required now for ferrets in Oregon, the above
information might just make some changes. Oregon people, please research
this information - hopefully your local Animal Control or wildlife park/zoo
might have more info. Please let STAR* know what you find out.
