 As others have suggested, some bitter apple will help, as will a hearty
 "NO!" when they go near them.  Ours have learned that behind the stereo
 is somewhere they shouldn't be.  And something you naven't considered,
 that we're dealing with in our youngest - the tendancy to climb the
 speaker covers...  (Same solution - but it takes time.)

 They can indeed learn to open cabinets...  They can also be taught
 not to do it!  Milo use to get into the cabinets every chance he
 got...  But after consistent disapline, he has learned not to.
 However, the quick & easy fix is childproofing.
 
 While I don't have any experience with ferrets & aquariums, I'm
 sure they would be intrigued by those movements in the tank.  :^)
