Someone asked how long it would take their fuzzy to begin acting normal
after neutering. We got Mortimer just before Christmas and had him
neutered. We saw behavioral changes within one or two weeks. Even now, he
continues to mellow. When we first got him, he was quite a pistol, dragging
Sebastian around, opening big gouges in our feet. He has now learned to tug
on our socks or sleeves when he wants to play, and snuggles with his
brother. His poofing problem is also abating slowly. His overall smell
came down to Sebastian's (the other already-neutered) level after about a
month. I thought this would help because I couldn't believe what a stinky,
obnoxious monster he was when he came home. Now he's a fairly gently,
unobtrusive monster. Personally, I think lots of handling and treats
helped, too. :)
