Hi!  I'm a month long lurker who just got my little Beastie a few weeks
ago.  He's 10 months, 2 lbs & his name IS Beastie.
 
Just a couple of observations.  On the list of "national" ferret org.s
around I didn't see the National Ferret Association - currently being
advertized on rec.pets.
 
Also, if you wanted to tattoo - why not shave the beatie's belly & tattoo
there.  Hair could be shaved if the fuzz ball was found - or for
identification if needed?  You could even use Social Security numbers -
maybe.
