To Tryntje: Many ferrets are just naturally very quiet. My ferrets have
tended to dook more as little kits and then they grew quieter as they got
bigger. Mine can even do a war dance without dooking. I think it must be
a survival behavior back when their ancestors were in the wild -- if they
were quiet, their predators couldn't hear them.
