I have 5 dark-eyed whites - they have burgundy eyes rather than black, so
they are called dark-eyes.  Everyone tells me they're rare, but we seem to
have a lot of them here in Rochester/Brockport - a breeder a few years back
had litters of dark-eyed whites, but she was a poor caretaker and many of
her litters died.  It's too bad, because she had beautiful show-quality
ferrets but didn't understand how to take care of them.
 
Generally, silvers will turn to white - not always, but most of the time
they will - as they get older, they lighten up - if you saw pix of my whites
when they were kits, you'd never recognize them as the same ferrets.
 
Libby is a silver I bred to Duss-T, my cinnamon/champagne (depends on which
judge you talk to, and she had 2 litters of silvers with only 1
cinn/champagne, and 1 of those silvers is totally white except for a light
silver ring around his tail (he'll be 3 in July).  These guys are all big -
over 4 lb, and the girls are chunking too, weighing in at 3 lb.
