Hi Dr. Williams. I know you're very busy so I'll try to keep this short.
About a month ago I noticed a red spot on my little girl ferret's rear end.
It's a little ways out from her anus and I figured it was a little wound
from the male I adopted tussling with her. I soon forgot about it (my
mistake) and now that I have noticed again, the red spot is still there on
top of a large hard lump. I'm very frightened because I have lost ferrets
to cancer. Could it be something to do with her scent glands or is it too
far away from her anus? She is a pet store ferret that was descented and
spayed at a very young age.
I have been noticing little behavior changes in Fingers for the last month.
She has gotten a little more lethargic, she has been pooping and peeing much
further out from her corners, she cries in her sleep sometimes, she has been
drinking her own urine, and she has slept in bed with me every night for two
weeks, something she never did before in her 2 years of life.
Is she too young for a geriatric check -up, and should I trust my vet to put
her under if it is nec.? I think they overdid my dog - he couldn't get off
the sofa for 2.5 days.
So much for keeping this short! Thanks for your time.
Worried Mommy(Cinda) and Fingers(yawn...)
