Regarding Salt licks and ferrets:

Balanced ferret foods have all of the salt and minerals that your ferret
needs. Salt licks are most commonly used in farmyard animals, which often
are herbivorous, grazing animals, and rarely used in animals for which a
complete diet is formulated.

While ferrets may like the taste of salt, there is really little need for
additional supplementation.
