We at the Ferret Friends of Indian River County Shelter are always short on
money (usually were in debt to the vet - thank the universe for vets that
will carry you for a while). I came up with this inexpensive treat.

I buy SafFlower oil at the Grocery Store. I buy a box of raisins. I take
the safflower oil and empty it into a measuring cup. I fill the Safflower
container with Raisins and then add the Safflower oil till the bottle is
full. I place the bottle in the cupboard. Every day for two weeks I turn
the bottle over. After the two week period I put the oil in a dark bottle
and give the ferrets two to three drops each day (I refill the bottle with
more safflower oil). The ferrets absolutely love it. One thing to be
careful of: keep the bottle closed tightly and don't let the raisins or the
oil go rancid. The best part of this for the ferrets is eating the raisins
that have been in the oil.
