Hi everybody!! This is my first time writing...my name is Michele and I
have a ferret named Binki. All of you write the nicest stuff. It is a
nice break at work to read this mailing list. In response to collars,
coughs and hair loss...this is what I HAVE FOUND OUT:

Lauren...my vet has informed me that hair loss is related to the
adrenal gland and allergies. If it is the adrenal gland, hair loss
will occur on the tail, neck and under body. And will not grow back.
Not to alarm you...but that is a sign of a tumor on the adrenal gland.
If excessive scratching causes the hair loss, then it could be allergy
related. There is an oinment called Panalog that can take care of that.

Dana...a hacking cough could be either allergies or a respiratory
infection. That is something treatable with predizone or a cough exilir.

When Binki hacks I give him warm tea and Pedicare cough medicine. He loves
it!!

For a collar, I use an elastic hair band with a small cate bell attached.
(cat not cate...spelling error...sorry)! I have found that to work great
for me!

Thanks for listening everyone!
