Hello Everyone, I am new to the system, so please be patient with me. I
had a ferret for almost six years and I lost him to a lung infection over
a year ago and I didn't think I would get another, but I couldn't resist.
I now have a 2 yr old male, named Angus and I have a few questions. I have
heard several different answers on how long their life span is...My vet
said he has yet to see one live past 5, except mine that made it to 6, is
this the case for most? Also, Angus has not been descented or nuetered
yet, has anyone had any problems with doing this at this age? Should he be
bred first, or does it matter ? I also want to get a companion for him,
any suggestions on whether or not to get a baby ferret or one about his age?
One last thing, I can't seem to get him to use his litter box. He did use
it with his old owner, but now, no matter where I put it, he'll go on the
other side of his cage or room. But he doesn't show any other signs of
distress from switching owners and he is affectionate towards me, I just
can't seem to get him to use the box. I have gotten one similar to his old
one and have put some of his droppings in, but it still didn't work, any
suggestions ? Thanks.
