Well Guys:
Just when I thought it was safe to assume Wompy's great health...
Last Friday, I went to get Wompy out of her cage when I noticed her lying
there w/ that all-too-familiar dull look in her eyes. I immediately took
her out & she was limp. She was barely aware of what was happening & I
immediately got to work w/ the honey to snap her out of her spell.
I called the vet & he told me to keep a close eye on her & keep him up on
her condition. Well, not 20 min. later, while I was holding her, she had a
stroke. I'd never seen anything like it (& I hope I never do again).
Needless to say, at 10:20 pm, I was on my way to meet the vet @ the clinic.
I felt worse for her than ever. She was so limp on the way to the vet that
I had resolved that she had died. So, when I went into the vet's office, to
my extremely happy surprise, she was up & about, albeit listing to one side,
but rela- tively ok. The vet took her home w/ him to watch her overnight
(that's doc!). When I picked her up Sat. morning, she was a little
disoriented but seemed no worse for the wear.
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know the scoop, since a few of you wrote me
to wish me good luck w/ her. She's doing fine now & I think she'll be ok
(now if only I could find a way to trick her into taking those little
prednisone pills!).
Well, take care & I hope this is the last trouble for Wompy. A big fuzzy
hug to all you ferrets out there!
