Yesterday I was browsing on the CFA (Cat Fanciers' Association) home page
and I noticed a section called "Retired Friends List". Basically, it's a
listing of cats who either have been retired from showing or from breeding,
and whom the breeders would like to get to a good home. For example:
Siamese (breed)
Color: seal point
Age: 1.8 years
Sex: female, spayed
Quality: show
breeder: Jane Doe and Joe Schmoe at <email.address>
description: Slinky is a very sweet cat, she loves to cuddle with
people and gets along well with other cats, though small children
are not recommended.
<home page, if any>
I thought it might be a good way to get some of those ferrets in shelters
adopted if there was a list of "Homeless Chums" or something with a similar
set up as above, where a person can contact the owner either through email
or through a telephone number. Am I crazy in thinking of this? It's just
that I keep reading about shelters with lots and lots of ferrets, and
shelter owners who have problems finding good homes for them.
Cheerios (and Apple Jacks too),
Anna G.-R.
Martin <benevolent Dad>
Molly "I'm oldest, so nyaaaah"
Obelix "I went out in the grass with Mom today!! It was so cool!"
Mithril "It's funner to be inside and eat eat eat.. speaking of which.."
Cwynn "Moooooom, I never get to do anything fun. <pout>"
Wookie "The bathtub's the place to be."
