Just another quick warning note: When I was 12 mos old, I ate a few
mouthfulls of boric acid crystals my parents were using to kill some
roaches. I apparently found it quite tasty, objecting loudly when Mom
took it away from me. The Pediatrician had my Mom take me to the ER
and had my stomach pumped.
 
Please don't underestimate what kids or pets will eat. One of our ferrets
decided to snack on a clean disposable diaper last month. Nearly gave me
a heart-attack when I found out. Luckily, no intestinal blockage or any
other damage was done. Except our human son now likes to chew on them too.
