Subject:
change in ferret eating habits/ sex determination

Well, Slinky is almost three months old now and her appetite has slowed
down. She is eating less and pooping less across the board. Is this just
because she has grown so much and now she doesn't need to grow for a while.
She has gotten pretty big in a short amount of time. She is currently right
over a pound and when I got her she was three quarters of a pound (I think).
Any comments? Her food hasn't been changed and neither has anything else
really.

Sex determination: how do you do it? I'm a little ignorant of this
situation right now. The pet store where I bought her (I know, I know) told
me that she was a girl. However, when checking her over for the first time
in months, I noticed what could be a penis in her genital area. I was
stunned. Now, like I said, I'm new to this, so I could be looking at
something perfectly normal. What do the penises of male ferrets look like? I
would really like to get this overwith and find out if I've been calling him
a her for a couple of months. Thanks.
