Casper and Nova both seem to prefer to lick water off a surface, rather
than drink from a bowl or bottle- I think it's because they don't want to
get their whiskers wet. I've never seen then snorkel, and they don't like
baths much, either.
 
On the other hand, I wouldn't be surprized if the snorkeling behavior in
general mimics a hungry ancestral ferret looking for a tasty fish. They are
related to sea otters, aren't they?
