It's been a while since I've written, but I wanted to share some
interesting info my sister recently obtained which could be applied
to the domestic ferret.

My sister and her family went to some kind of nature center/zoo
combination and the tour guide was showing the visitors all different
kinds of animals. He eventually showed everyone a box turtle and asked
how many folks ever had one as a pet. He then asked what they fed their
pet turtle. Lettuce? - Not a good diet since that's only water. Ground
Beef? - Since when do turtles eat meat? He then said, "If you ever see
a turtle eating a cow, run the other way!"

My point is merely this; so many folks seem to believe that if domestic
ferrets "escaped" into the wild, they'd over-populate and kill off all
kinds of other animals. Believe me, if I ever see a domestic ferret
eating a cow, I am going to run the other way!

                        Regards,
