Max was already chasing me during play, so walking went just about the
same. Sometimes he would just stop and lie down, or wander around a tree,
or roll in the grass, but he pretty much just followed my feet. Dawn
controls the leash to keep him from running under my feet, and maintaining a
good speed keeps him going. It usually takes a couple of minutes and a few
false starts, but then he moves very well, with the exception of freezing in
place when a car or truck goes by. When ther's an excessively noisy vehicle
such as a diesel, we have to carry him till we've cleared the noise zone.
One day we did three miles with him on a trip to the video store.
