I'm always amazed by the trouble ferrets can get themselves into...

I have 2 doors with about 1-1/4" space under them, meant for w/w carpeting.
Since I don't have rugs, they are perfect for *very small* ferrets to
squeeze under--ie, Cinderella (Ralph is way too big to even try). However,
much to my surprise, the new guy Harry managed to squash himself under one
of the doors when he first came. I think he is still growing though, and I
guess he has put on a couple of ounces since then.

This morning when I woke up, Harry had his head *stuck* under the closet
door (which, by the way, was open). When I tried to slide him back and
free his head, he started to struggle and panic, trying to free himself. I
didn't know how long he had been that way, and I was afraid he might choke
to death! Thank goodness for mineral oil--I got some and spread it on his
neck, which allowed me to slide him back out. (Then after trauma #1, I had
to give him a bath so he didn't O.D. on mineral oil.) Whew! Who would
have thought a ferret could get their head stuck under a door???? He seems
ok, though a bit tired from his adventure. Now I need to ferret-proof the
doors--what next!?

- Ralph "boy, that new guy is kinda dumb, huh?"
- Cinderella "I can fit under the doors 'cause I'm a princess
    and quite dainty"
- Harry "huh? what happened? I fit under the door last time I tried"
