    To Elisa Beth Stamm, et.al.;

    I definitely have seen some of mine appear to be dreaming, their little
front paws moving like running, licking their lips like eating something,
and pretty seldom, wimpering. I've seen the same in dogs and cats, so I
would guess that most higher life forms dream. I remember a Star Trek
episode saying the more intelligent the life form the more need for play..
Maby the same with dreams..:)
[Moderator's note: A New York Times article a couple of years back mentioned
that it seems ferrets dream more than any other animal, including humans.
The article was about dreaming, not about ferrets, but just goes to show one
never knows just where a ferret will pop up! It also sounds like a rather
choice research project from a ferret's point of view :-) BIG]

    I wouldn't worry, but the reassurance you give them probably switch a
possibly bad dream into a better one, good idea!
