To Jeanne Stadtmiller with the broken heart: It makes perfect sense that
when you lose a ferret, no matter how many ferrets you have in your heart,
your heart breaks 100 percent over the loss. That's because the whole of
your heart is so much greater than the sum of its parts, and you'd give
anything to save the one you lost.

I am sorry to hear about all the ferrets who have departed -- Spotlight,
Cilla, Halie, Dr. Williams' 9-year-old, Ming, Sundi, and I'm sorry for
not remembering all the other names.

I think it's important for people who have lost ferrets to post about it
on the FML, even though it's sad -- sharing is such an essential part of the
healing process. Our little fuzzies get to be remembered by us all -- we
find out we are not alone and there are others who understand and care.

Love to all the little ferrets here and beyond,

Linda, Esperanza, Frankie, Lucky Charm, and Angel
