>I need help! We got a kit about three weeks ago when he was 8 weeks old.

When I brought Milo home, at ten weeks old, we isolated him in his own cage
for a bit before we introduced him to the other ferrets. He was a whiner
... no, he was a screamer. And he would shake the bars while he hollered at
me to come get him out and play.
It only made sense to me...after all, he'd been yanked away from all his
buddies and left alone in a little cage and figured he needed to learn how
to communicate with us. So when Milo hollered, I ran. I picked him up,
tummy wrestled with him, chased him around the couch cushions, you name it.
Boy and we were talking spolied ferrets a while ago!
The result is that Milo is the most bonded to me of all my ferrets, in a way
I have never experienced before. He knows his name and always, always comes
to it. He follows me around and jumps on my leg to get my attention. He
never really sleeps because he's always waiting for me to walk by the cage
and say hello. He stopped whining when he was a few weeks older and
although he is still the most vocal of all my fuzzies (dook dook dookin
away, all the time) he never hollers anymore. Actually, I kind of miss it.
I guess he doesn't need me as much as he used to (*pout*).
I'm betting that once your guy settles in and gets used to the routine and
grows up a bit, he'll also settle down and shut up. As for your car trip,
just talk to him and try to keep him quiet. If not, make sure your stereo
is working...
