Jessica,

I have the same problem--allergies (runny nose, asthma, sneezing)

I have had 2 ferrets (same time) in the past. What works for me:

1.) Keep them well bathed. I went to the Ferret Play Day today, and a
gentleman that was from the NAFA was kind enough to take the time to tell
me all about BioGroom shampoo. He said that it is the first product that
NAFA *MIGHT* sanction. He says that he knows for a fact that it is okay
to bath your ferret with it every day...from a person that had to
(parental threats)...however, he did not recommend it.

2.) There are small animal relief products. They seemed to be fine.
In order to keep from bathing my ferrets constantly, I used this stuff on
occasion. However, I am not a vet.

3.) What 2.) attempts to do is eliminate the dander (I think that is
the right term). This is what you are really allergic to. I was told by
a vet that research has shown that DISTILLED water will have the same
affect. Just wet a cloth with distilled water, and wipe your ferret
(once a day). I never ran out of the comercial thingy, so I never tryed
this one.

Final note: I just got a ferret today, so I am going to an allergenist
to try to elimate the other types of allergies I have. My main plan of
attack is too keep Sid's cage CLEAN, and him also. Should be fun! :*>

If you get any good idea's via e-mail, *PLEASE* pass them on to me...a
fellow suffering animal lover! :*>

Good luck,

-Jeff

P.S. I don't know how long you have had your fuzzy, but I believe that
your body does build a slight immunity over time. I know that my
allergies to the family pets are much worse now that I don't live at home.
