Hi all, just keeping you posted. I called Rachel Lamb today (7/12) and got
an update on the status of things. She has received my letter and promises
a personal response. She received the video FERRETS UNMASKED from me and
will watch it, and she has not had the time to copy the ferret files, but
WILL - she promises. We'll keep calling everyother week to make sure.

She did meet with the AFA and mentioned the conference call with NY ferret
people. she will tell me more about those outcomes in her letter to me.
she asked what was STAR*'s goals/agenda and I explained what STAR* does and
what we want to accomplish. She asked about my personal feelings about
ferrets being sold in pet shops and if I believed in euthanisia. I told her
that someday, I hope no pets will be sold in pet shops, that all pets should
come from private breeders or shelters. I also said that I only believe in
Euthanisia as a last resort for health reasons, or if the animal has
evidence of being attacked _and_ no one can provide proof that it has a
record of innoculation. Notice that my answers were geared towards ANIMALS,
not just ferrets. She also asked me if there was an overpopulation problem
with ferrets, and I said not at this time, that my shelter is empty several
times a year.

Anywho - just wanted to keep you informed, and the HSUS is not being put on
a back burner, at least not by me.
