Are there any contacts for veterinary care that some of you folks here on
FML could recommend for western Colorado, northern Utah, Boise, Idaho,
anywhere in Washington state or in Northern Oregon? I'm soon to be
traveling from New Mexico through these areas with a post operative sick
ferret and would appreciate knowing of some emergency treatment options
along the way if needed. Halley, a 4+ years old cinnamon female and her
new sister Tika, my husband, & I will be on the road until mid-August so
we are very anxious about the logistics. Halley is having exploratory
surgery on Fri. & is having some lymph tissue removed as the vet is now
suspecting lymphoma & insulinoma after recent bloodwork.

Also, I have some heartworm medication that was prescribed for a previous
ferret & am wondering how long the stuff keeps (Ivomec:propylene glycol)
as there is no expiration date on the bottle. I don't want to risk heart
worm with Tika. The other option is interceptor (milbemycin oxime)
tablets which are 2.3 mg each. Is one tab. the right dose for a ferret of
approx. 1 lb.?

Thanks again to everyone who sent condolences several week back for
our little Misha. Thanks in advance for your prayers for Halley & help
with contacts, etc.!

Cyndi, Mike, Halley, & Tika
