Fair pricing?

My local pet shop here in Galveston buys their ferrets from a private breeder
in the area.  I would like to get a black-eyed white.  Occasionally the mall
store has MF-bred BEWs for around $170.  The local store wants, for a 9wk
unneutered non-descented BEW male with no shots, $400!  The clerk says this
is a "true" BEW, not a "MF look-alike".  My question, does this sound like a
fair price for ferret of this type?  Or am I getting a snow job (no pun
intended)?  Thanks.
