I just read Fran Schreiber's message about Hagen leashes and harnesses.
While I like the design of them, I had a very bad experience with one
of their harnesses. The "male" end of the buckle looks very similar top
and bottom, particularly when you are trying to fasten it to a squirmy
little fuzzball. I accidentally put one of the male buckle ends in upside
down, it locked, and then WOULD NOT release. Luckily, I had made the
loop a little two large for Scooter, and with some soap and water, I was
able to slide him out of the fastened harness. I tried fastening the other
buckle upside down, and got the same result - it locked, and I could not
release it, even with pliers and a knife. PLEASE be very careful with these
harnesses - this could have been a real tragedy in an emergency, or if I
had accidentally made the loop too small for Scooter, and could not have
gotten him out.

P.S. I now have a Velcro harness from Pam Grant, and LOVE IT!
