A few hours??!!! It takes more than a few hours to train a ferret not to
bite. It took me several weeks to train my Sammy. The two keys are
persistance (in discipline) and patience. I broke Sammy of biting by
sometimes flicking and sometimes blowing on his nose and saying "no." I
know it's frustrating -- sometimes I would flick/blow on his nose every
30 seconds -- but hang in there! And, Sammy didn't really start calming
down until he was 3-4 months old. Before that time, he had two modes:
hyperactive and ultra-hyperactive. Now at 9 months, he is a very placid,
sweet ferret who I can trust -- even with little kids. However, I have
heard from fellow ferret owners that females tend to remain more nippy
than males. You should at least be able to train her not to draw blood.
She'll learn how hard she can bite.

Good luck,

Sharon (and Sammy -- the ferret, Gent -- the horse, Fantine, Timmy, and
Cinnamon Roll -- the cats, and Ranger, Dieter, and Rambo -- the turtles)
