Please bear with us, we missed a lot of days and have a lot to tell/ask...

We call it "parking" when the kids are playing and just stop and lay flat
on the floor. Somone used the speedbump analogy. Does anyone know why
they do this? We saw a program on narcoleptic dobermans and they behaved
the same way...so, are ferrets narcoleptic or just funny that way?

Dr. Williams, maybe you can answer this one. We have been very lucky and
except for one hairball (or pancreatitis, we still aren't sure) episode
with Andy, we have not had any problems. We've been reading about all
the sad stories people have about their fuzzies. Are ferrets especially
prone to illnesses, problems, etc... OR, are we (society) just not yet
capable of caring for them as easily as dogs and cats?

Are they really smart or really dumb? Sometimes we wonder because they
seem to be smart enough to play dumb when they think it suits them.

Kudos to NY SPCA!! Unfortunately, we had the opposite problem here in
Miami. Our zoo did a story (luckily it was only local) and talked about
what bad pets ferrets make and how they bite and that they smell really
bad, etc... Luckily, after that, the Miami Herald did a story about what
great pets they are and how to adopt one from the shelter and how to
contact the ferret club president..

One more question and we'll go...why do ferrets have tails? They don't
wag them or use them to show expression like dogs or cats...they don't
hang from them like monkeys or opossums....Does anyone know?

Peace--
Cam, Lori
