When we took Bobbin to the emergency clinic last thanksgiving day, we had to
make the difficult decision to put her to sleep after an unrecoverable
seizure. The doctor and staff at the clinic could not have been more kind. A
few days later, we received a sympathy card from the clinic with a poem on it
that I found so touching I wanted to share it with all of you who have
suffered losses. (BIG - there was no copyright info, but I am giving credit
to the author - I hope this is OK). The card has a background with the
shadows of several pets, and the following verse:

        ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
        ... Grieve not,
                nor speak of me with tears
                        but laugh and talk of me
                                as if I were beside you...
                I loved you so --
                        'twas Heaven here with you.
        - Isla Paschal Richardson
        ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My sympathies to all.

Erika (and Misty, Sasha, and Lizzie)
