To Krystal and Weehawk:

>Now here is my question for the vets and for the breeders out there, if
>that wasn't all of the testicular matter, can I leave him partially whole?
>Will his interest in my fixed female lessen once spring is over?

Krystal - I'll keep an eye out for Weehawk's tissues. In answer to
your questions: you don't want to leave him partially intact if at all
possible. Testicular tissue, if retained in the abdomen or outside of
its natural home in the scrotal sac, has a particularly nasty habit of
becoming cancerous. One of my ferrets, Bob, was a cryptorchid when we
got him. When we went in to take out the testicle, we found several
large tumors in it. Lucking, testicular tumors only rarely become
malignant, so he is none the worse for wear because we recognized the
signs of his cryptorchidism early (smelling like an intact male, greasy
coat, etc.) He never really bothered the females much.

It's tough to say whether Weehawks interest in the opposite sex
will lessen after the spring - every individual is different. Some
males have far more libido than others.
