    An application for a ferret permit can be obtained from:
 
New York State Department of Enviromental Conservation
Division of Fish and Wildlife-Special Licenses Unit
50 Wolf Road
Albany, New York 12233-4752
 
The fee is $10 and must be renewed yearly, they send the renewal forms
each year prior to the expiration date which you fill out and return,
with $10 of course.  I'm in Central New York so I can't help you with
any local restrictions that may exist in NYC. I'm sure someone else
here on FML has that information.
