In Memoriam
Miss Amber Paisley
March 1989 -- March 28, 1996
It is with deep sadness that I report Miss Amber Paisley's crossing Rainbow
Bridge this evening at 7:30, after a long, heroic battle with insulinoma,
lymphoma and adrenal tumors. She gave her first real evidence of pain
(rather than the little bit of discomfort she let us know about) last night
and was starting to have trouble breathing. We were both present for her
and were allowed to hold and comfort her while the sedative took effect and
when she was finally released from her suffering. (we could certainly do no
less for a loved one).
An interesting thing occurred in the exam room when the vet had gone to the
pharmacy to get the medications. Both my SO and I heard a ferret dooking. It
sounded like it was coming from the hazardous waste disposal container, but
there was no other ferret in the medical center.
I'm sure that she found Lazer right off, and by now they have probably
commandeered all the chocolate Haagen Daaz they could find.
