     Haired skin:  Sebaceous epitheliomas, multiple,  ferret, mustelid.
 
COMMENT:  Sebaceous epithelioma is the most common cutaneous neoplasm of
the ferret.  These are benign neoplasms composed primarily of basal cells, a
percentage of which exhibit sebaceous differentiation.  These tumors
occasionally occur in multiple sites, and affected animals may develop
additional tumors over time.  Surgical excision of all neoplasms appears
complete; the prognosis is good.
