Ferret that doesn't like treats

I bought my first ferret last weekend, a 7 week old female.  I keep
reading that to train a ferret, treats should be given.  However,
Sonia does not like anything given to her by hand, not even ferretone.
Is this normal?  How can I get her to eat something from my hand?
Should I just keep trying or should I try other tactics.
