To Jim and Kathy:

        Umm, yes.  Mites live in and under the waxy layer.  Without first
removing the wax - how do you expect the medicine to get to the mites.  Plus
- even if you do kill them, how would you like to walk around with a mass of
wax, eggs, and dead insects in your ears.....yeeeech!
