Hi, everyone!
Well, Rascal's in a *much* better mood. Yesterday, before I left for
church, I didn't want to leave her all alone in a small room for an hour,
because it might depress her further, so I let her run around my
(ferret-proofed) room for a while. I'll think twice before I do that again,
though.
When I came back, I found *everything* knocked off my computer desk,
bathroom sink counter, telephone table, and nightstand, and a happy little
ferret standing in the middle off the mess. She was chewing on something
when I walked in, but she dragged it under the bed with all of her other junk
and came back and danced, danced, DANCED for me for a couple of minutes. But,
when I surveyed the damage, she proudly strutted up to my desk and pooped on
my science report (it's due on Wednesday :P ). I got kind of upset then, but
I (thankfully) saved it on a computer disc, and just printed out another copy.
She then covered me with wet, sloppy kisses. I had totally forgotten about
the chewed toy (darnit!).
But then, this morning, I noticed that she hadn't been her bouncey
little self. I checked the ferret FAQ and my E-MAIL (thanks to all who
replied ASAP) and many of you said that she may have an intestinal blockage.
You guys must have psychic, or something supernatural, because those were her
symptoms.
I gave her LAXA-STAT and waited about 3 hours. All of a sudden, she
was screeching, and I came to find that she was passing a piece of plastic
(#@%*^!@&). She eventually passed the entire thing (followed by a whole lot
of messy poops ;) ) and now seems normal. I dug out the thing under the bed
to find that a hard piece of plastic from my small corkboard's frame was
missing (I'm glad she didn't eat the cork!).
She's fine (I think) now, and she's eating again. Thanks to all who
replied quickly, because your psychic-ness (is that a word?) saving my baby's
life.
From,
The Thankful Carinne Prest
And Plastic-Free Rascal
