I wanted to share something that I've found to be most useful. While under
under the influence of a recent spring cleaning frenzy (I even pulled out the
sofa... EEEEK!), I came across sheets of heavy plastic mesh that are used as
a base for a sort of needlepoint. The plastic is around 2mm thick, with
holes less than 2mm wide. I put the mesh sheets in front of litter boxes to
prevent litter tracking. Since the floors in the ferret condo are mostly
linoleum, tracking has been a constant problem. Litter now drops off their
feet and through the mesh. No more tracked litter in the living levels. I
just wash the mesh and vacuum under it weekly. Surprisingly, Guinness and
Magill have shown no interest in playing with or chewing on the plastic.

Cheers,
Lynn, Mike, Guinness and Magill
