Mike DiPetrillo asked about the smell from his new ferrets. A number of
people on the FML have commented that kits seem to have a sharper odor than
adult ferrets (including descented ferrets), so some of this apparent smell
may diminish as the ferrets get older. Also, remember that ferrets have
secretory glands on their face and occasionally you can see them rubbing on
objects such as rugs, blankets, etc. You may be smelling where they have
rubbed their faces in their cage. Often when you have bathed the ferrets
and their cage still smells "ferrety" you need to clean the bedding and the
litter box more often. Give that a try and post back to the FML whether it
worked or not.
