I just obtained a buddy for my sable Teru; an incredibly mellow silver male
(whose name is either Ferrret Mulder or Father Mojo; he hasn't decided yet).
He's so mellow, I rushed him to the vet after five hours and not a single
weasel war dance. Dr J. thinks he has low blood sugar. After twelve hours
of Karo syrup, he's still mellow. Dr. J gave him a complete physical and
checked a stool sample. He checked out fine on both counts. He's not
running a fever, his eyes, nose and mouth have no unsusal discharges. He
drinks like a fish, but I've yet to see him eat. And other than a panic
stool when I gave him a bath (other than that--calm, cool, collected) I
haven't seen any defication.
I'm also worried that Teru will beat the **** out of him when they finally
get together. They're about the same size, but Teru's got five times the
energy and speed. Any suggestions on how to properly introduce ferrets to
one another?
What sort of noises are *not* happy play noises? Should I let them fight
out dominance as long as no blood is drawn?
